To volunteer or take a course.
I have been pondering on thought of volunteering at place that has something to do with special children. But there is nothing much to be found near indira nagar area, on the other hand I am really interested in doing some course or diploma to increase my knowledge to deal with kids on autism spectrum, the program I found in spastics society of karnataka is a full time program, which means I have work from home, this is a slim chance of going that route. So I am really stuck on how to spend my free time which I want to do something worthwhile, I am praying to god to show me the way.

Summer vacation
It has been really quiet for the last 15 days, since my son has gone to the in laws with my wife for the summer vacation. The first few days I was a bit excited since this was a long time since I will have my time. But after a week I feel that my life with my son and wife is really empty :), love them so much. I really want to try different therapies with him and I read about RDI want to try it, but it is touch to find a RDI therapist in bangalore.

8 months after son DX
My son was diagnosed with atypical autism 8 months back through speech pathologist.
After that what followed suite was a roller coaster ride.
The first week was really hard, watching the videos on kids with pddnos youtube made us more fearful.
At first we did not know where to start, and on top of that my mother had a leg fracture. So I had running between
talking care of son and my mother. We started of with a evaluation with speech and hearing center in lingarajapuram,
where DS was DX with PDDNOS again. The institute was far from our house, we had to start the therapy as soon as possible,
since the 5 year deadline was haunting us. We went to spastics society in bangalore where they had a program
for the parent traing. That was really good starting ground which laid the foundation on knowing more about autism.
We also started the speech therapy with professional instituion in indira nagar, and till date I don't like
that place because the charge is high, but I like the therapist there, since my son is progressing well. He has
few words now and I am eager for the day when he will start talking in sentences.
